Hi, My name is Stephanie D’Laroy. I’m an “Aussie Gal”. I was born and bred from Perth, Western Australia and lived a pretty traditional Aussie life with being the eldest of 3 kids with 2 younger brothers. I was born a Catholic and eventually, when I grew older became a Christian. Both my parents are from India hence my tan and we lived in a quiet suburb with both my grandmothers.
Growing up we lived in a medium sized house which could only be described as a miniature zoo. We had about 14 different kinds of animals ranging from big dogs to several black and white chickens & ducks. As you can tell we were a family of animal lovers.
During my high school years I was not considered a typical gal. During the winter months, while most girls played netball at school, I would be running around with my hockey stick in hand and mouth guard on like a “Tom Boy”.
In summer during the school holidays while many would take the opportunity of hanging out with friends for the 2 weeks, I would be participating in vacation swimming and studying for my next level in swimming. Needless to say my parents were very protective and had to know what I was doing outside of school.
When I graduated from high school I never really knew what I wanted to “be” however, I did enjoy computers so I pursued a career in business which then branched into the medical industry where I worked in numerous medical businesses for over 10 years.
As I was a workaholic during those years, I didn’t start travelling till my mid 20’s but once I had a taste for it, I knew I had caught the travelling bug big time. During that time I’d traveled to many places all over the world from the U.S, U.K, Europe & Asia and encountered amazing people and things.
It was then I decided in order to afford to travel more, I needed to search for a better job which made more money. Fortunate for me the mining industry was booming at the time so I decided to change jobs and I was locked in for the next 3 years.
Although the money was extremely good, I was not getting the time freedom to pursue my travels. I thought to myself what was the point in having all this money, if I can’t use it to keep travelling.
Eventually work consumed my life and took a toll on my health and I finally made the decision to quit the mining industry and look for a job that didn’t consists of long hours or anything too physical.
I turned to the internet for the solution and came across internet marketing.
Unfortunately it was around the same time, I found out that I had Stage 4 T Cell “Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma” Cancer. For the next 6 months I went through 6 rounds of chemotherapy. To say I went through hell would be an understatement.
I lost all my hair, my eyebrows, my eyelashes and my nails fell off. I was basically a freak of nature and I didn’t leave my house for a very very long time.
The journey had been slow and at times quite painful and a struggle but after Cancer I started to think differently.
I knew that life was way too short to be working a 9-5 job that you truly didn’t enjoy and to be honest, I really didn’t know how long I really had on this earth as I was surely (in my heart) meant to be gone now because I was in my final stage of Cancer.
With a lot of determination, persistence and a hunger to succeed for financial & time freedom, I have now become my own boss and I work on my own terms…doing what I enjoy doing….to help and inspire others who have gone through the same journey as I did.
A vital lesson you can learn from my story…
My journey taught me that the only security in your life is your ability to adapt to circumstances. You never know what life is going to throw at you. You just got to keep moving forward.
Many people blame circumstances outside themselves for their situation, but that makes you powerless.
You only have control over your internal world…that is what you need to focus on. When you focus on what’s going on inside you – success will follow…no matter who you are.
